Great day out, only thing to be mindful of is whether you have a ticket that's eligible for a full years re-entry. Ours wasn't and we didn't realise when booking but definitely would have gone back.

the meeting point was handy and easy to find, check in was fast. We only scanned the tickets handed out at check in and we were in. Our guide was super good, very knowledgeable and pleasant. We had the time to visit nearly all museums inside the castle, except the crown jewelry tower, the queue was impressive, and the wastern defense wall, as they closed it at 5 and a bit. If you can book a morning slot it may guve you the time do everything.

The castle tour was absolutely amazing. My best friend and I were visiting Edinburgh for the first time and decided to go on the castle tour and it was DEFINITELY worth it. The castle itself is already amazing but our tour guide Jen was absolutely incredible. From start to finish she seemingly knew everything there was to know about the castle, was very fun and engaging and made the tour even better. Anyone planning on doing this tour should 100% do it and 1000% as for Jen if you can!

We where a very small group. The guide was a lady who was so lovely! She really made you feel like she was telling you the story in a private living room. No rush or emotionless guiding. I loved it so much.
